Challenge
"Ushi Shabu Shabu," a brand dedicated to offering the finest Japanese beef hot pot experience, ensures that freshness is the first sensation conveyed to every guest. This priority on quality and nature is woven directly into the design, immersing diners in a meticulously crafted farm-to-table ambiance. The restaurant design merges natural elements and architectural artistry, creating a space that reflects the purity of ingredients while enhancing the dining experience with visual and sensory depth.

"Immersing diners in a farm-to-table ambiance" - Ushi Shabu Shabu's interior design merges natural elements and architectural artistry, creating a space that reflects the purity of ingredients while enhancing the dining experience with visual and sensory depth.
SOLUTION
The design centers around a suspended wheat farm installation overhead, embodying the essence of an inverted agricultural landscape. This feature serves as both a focal point and a symbol of seasonality and renewal, visually reinforcing the farm-to-table concept while maintaining clear sightlines across the dining space. Subtle lighting accentuates the wheat installation, casting soft, natural light that adds to the feeling of freshness.
OUTCOME
To further enrich the guest experience with the beauty and serenity of Japanese culture, the design introduces elements that seamlessly blend tradition with the dining environment. Adjacent to the suspended wheat installation, a tranquil architectural garden inspired by a traditional Japanese backyard incorporates a sculptural Pinus thunbergii wooden element and natural moss rocks. These elements provide a grounding connection to nature and a nod to Zen design principles, enhancing the cultural narrative of the space. The harmony between rustic, natural forms and sleek modernity is carefully balanced to create an elegant yet welcoming atmosphere.
